365(ish) days later...

Well, I'm back in Melbourne now and my year of daily photo posting is over and done with. I feel like I've achieved something - I'm proud of myself for seeing it through and it's nice every now and then to look back through my year in pictures - but I'm also glad it's over.

This afternoon walking home I thought, "Oh, I haven't taken a photo today yet!" and then I remembered I don't have to. I admit it was a relief.  The past couple of months I've found it increasingly difficult to find fresh fodder for the blog. Has it shown?

But it's not the end of the blog! As I mentioned before I went on holidays, I'll still take my camera everywhere with me, but I won't necessarily "go looking" for a photo to post every day.

This year, I want to try to take more photos of people, and maybe - maybe - more self-portraits. We'll see...

Thanks every one for reading (looking?) and for all your wonderful complimentary comments. I'm still just a beginner at this photography thing, so the feedback has been much appreciated.

  1. I find it hard to believe you're just a beginner. You have an excellent eye and some of your recent posts have been stunning - especially Flinders Street.

  2. Thanks Bill. I guess I'm more across the artistic aspect of photography, but when it comes to the technical stuff, I've got a lot to learn.

  3. I'm just in love with Melbourne but have a child who's too young to uproot - so thanks for providing my fix, even if I did stumble upon you too late.

  4. Congratulations Jayne! It's a great achievement. I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at your photo's this past year and I look forward to what's to come, even if it isn't a daily occurrence. You have a good eye and I can see many of your photo's hanging in a gallery somewhere. Don't sell yourself short. :-)

  5. Hi Matt. It's been my pleasure. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Tattered. Thanks! You're very kind. I'm finally going to get around to having sme of my photos printed to hang on my wall at home. Shame to leave them trapped in my laptop or on the interwebs! I'm also going to look into making a GiM book with my favourite photos, providing it's not too expensive.
