I guess they named this Star Alley before it became home to Club X and a battalion of bins. I had to wait for a business man to walk up the alley and slink into Club X before I took the shot. I felt a bit shifty.

Tis me!
Told you I was going to post some self-portraits, didn't I? No way posting it in large format though.
Also, look! I have one eye bigger than the other! Stupid glasses.
(Note to self: book hair appointment.)

Pellegrini's
They probably thought I was taking a photo of them but really, I just got sick of waiting for them to nick off so I could take a photo of Pellegrini's as part of my Walking Melbourne tour.

Bonus photo Friday
The footbridge near the new Convention Centre finally has a name - Seafarers Bridge. I like it. And I love the bridge.

Brown
Why is the Yarra so brown and opaque lately? Yes, I know it's always brown, but on a sunny day under blue skies, it usually appears blue. What's going on?

365(ish) days later...
Well, I'm back in Melbourne now and my year of daily photo posting is over and done with. I feel like I've achieved something - I'm proud of myself for seeing it through and it's nice every now and then to look back through my year in pictures - but I'm also glad it's over.
This afternoon walking home I thought, "Oh, I haven't taken a photo today yet!" and then I remembered I don't have to. I admit it was a relief. The past couple of months I've found it increasingly difficult to find fresh fodder for the blog. Has it shown?
But it's not the end of the blog! As I mentioned before I went on holidays, I'll still take my camera everywhere with me, but I won't necessarily "go looking" for a photo to post every day.

This year, I want to try to take more photos of people, and maybe - maybe - more self-portraits. We'll see...
Thanks every one for reading (looking?) and for all your wonderful complimentary comments. I'm still just a beginner at this photography thing, so the feedback has been much appreciated.

Lizards a-plenty
I saw at least one lizard most days up at mum's, but this was the biggest and best of the lot - a goanna climbing a tree beside the Ellenborough River. While we watched, a kookaburra and another bird dive bombed it, so we think it was trying to get at the birds' nests. We could hear a baby kookaburra up in the trees. (The rest of the lizards were skinks about 20-30 cms long warming themselves on the paving at mum's)
