Big screen

A crowd enjoys the sunshine while watching the Federer v Davidenko match (or while sleeping) at Fed Square

  1. That screen is really bright. My dearest and I had a room at the Sofitel that overlooked it and it took me a little while to realise the the coloured lights dancing around the ceiling were from the big screen in Fed Square.

  2. Funny - I thought there'd be more people. It was positively crawling during the 2006 World Cup.

I keep trying to persuade my wife to go down for next year's Open - and she wants to know WHY. Damn....

  3. Hey Matthew. The crowd was actually bigger than what you can see here - lots of people out to my left and behind me. But it isn't packed. I'm sure soccer is far more popular than tennis.

I live 10 minutes' walk from the tennis centres and I've never been!

  4. Is it a good idea to fall asleep under the hot hot Aussie summer sun? It would be a bad idea for me.
