Labour Day Monument, corner Victoria and Russell Streets, which marks the successful campaign for an eight-hour working day in Victoria, beginning with stonemasons in 1856 and then extending to other trades. This is why it's a public holiday in the state today.

ReplyDeleteHi db. Do they still use that slogan? Would seem a bit naughty in these obese times to be encouraging people to snarf a chocolate bar every day...
