Saturday sojourn

Distant rain as seen from the top of Lake Mountain,
the closest alpine resort to Melbourne (click to enlarge)

Lake Mountain and surrounds were ravaged by the devastating
Black Saturday bushfires in February 2009. So many trees lost...
but there is a strange and eerie beauty to it

More ghost trees on the road between Lake Mountain and Marysville

Steavenson Falls near Marysville, one of Victoria's
tallest waterfalls with a drop of 122 metres

Part of the lower cascade.
Anyone know the highest waterfall in Victoria?
My google search was inconclusive

    1. The silvery grey dead ones. Not their botanical name.

  2. Steavenson Falls look fantastic with all the growth burnt away. A very mixed blessing. Toorongo Falls are quite high. I haven't seen them since I was a kid but they were as tall as a tall building, not allowing for things always seeming taller and bigger in memories of childhood.
