I visited the Boroondara Cemetery in Kew with my camera today. The conditions were difficult (full story here), so they didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped.
The elaborate ceiling of a very, very fancy grave. A famly crypt maybe?
The statues atop the grave. Not sure what that is poking out of his head.
The old (and best) part of the cemetery
Fab pics, love that cemetery.
ReplyDeleteThe thing poking out of his head may be a piece of iron on which something like a halo once was depisting him as in heaven, etc.
Found a great spot for pics further up the Yarra in Eltham yesterday, superb area :)
Oh I love it!! An old cemetery holds so much magic. When I go to Australia I will definitely be walking through the oldest cemeteries I can find. Love it.
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you I am a graveyard tragic? I was unaware that a halo made you depist or should that be depissed?
ReplyDeleteOff topic: Do you know html? To display photos beside each other, I encase them in tables.
I think you would get 2 x 640 images beside each other in the format you use.
If all this is pure gobbledgook, then maybe your halo has slipped, too.
Hi Jayne. It is indeed a fantastic cemetery - better than I expected just from what I could see passing by on the tram.
ReplyDeleteHey Erin. You should go to the Melbourne General Cemetery then. That'll be next on my list.
Hi Julie. Er...yeah, I had no idea what you were on about until I re-read the other comments. Very droll.
I know bugger all about HTML - my layout would be better if I did! (Sometimes it just won't look the way I want it to look and I give up - like that second photo. I just couldn't get it to move!)
I do intend to learn, but when is the question.
Stunning photos! If you struggle with html, maybe you could use Windows Live Writer to post? It helps you do all sorts of fancy things with your images.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, I think your larger images are very pretty and I like seeing them one by one.
