Love the red geraniums, I think they always look joyful, maybe because they remind me of Europe.

Yes, they really stand out in the fairly grungy laneway. There is also a huge chandelier in the laneway that looks like it has been dropped from the sky and become wedged between the buildings (it's a piece of art). I just can't get a decent photo of it though, dagnammit!

* It has a lane named after rock band AC/DC and a swimming pool named after a Prime Minister who is believed to have drowned at sea
* Its vibrant multiculturalism
* Royal Botanic Gardens.
* Shady Caroline Street in South Yarra
* The disco balls hanging above Rankins Lane in the city
