Great Ocean Road...the non-oceany bit

Getting near Port Campbell

There was a double rainbow, but it faded too fast.

Stone

This is Merritts Place, a private (but accessible) lane, behind my work. It has fantastic old brickwork and weathered wood (not shown here), cobblestones and a great old bluestone building, the side wall of which you can see here. I don't recommend walking along the lane in heels - the cobblestones have big gaps between them.

Blurry Park

Who needs a steady hand, eh? AAMI Park looks cool when blurry.

Grunge

Spencer Street

The sunshine coaxed me out of my building for a walk at lunch time today. The area I work now - the north west of the CBD - is a little grungey and seedy, but I like it. There's a lot of old brick and bluestone buildings and warehouses...and some barbed wire on this construction site near the corner of Little Bourke and Spencer Streets.

Found...

When I was going through my photos to choose entries for the Celebrate Your City competition, I found this forgotten photo from the Moomba Festival and was quite taken with it. I posted a very similar photo at the time, but I really like this one too, so here it is in lieu of a proper new photo.

Vote for me!

One of my entries

I have, for the first time, entered some of my photos into a competition.  Ted's Camera House is celebrating 40 years in business by giving away three Nikon DSLRs in the Celebrate Your City competition.

You can upload five shots and they are rated by the public, rather than judged by experts, which gives me a better chance of winning! I had a really hard time choosing five photos to enter, which makes me feel a bit pleased with myself.

You can see my photos here, here, here, here and here. If you feel so inclined, I'd love it if you could have a look and rate my shots. (The links are a little temperamental but if you wait for a bit, my photo should appear.)

There's some amazing photos entered so far and I certainly don't think mine are the best, but I'm happy they don't look out of place.
